Ana Hill - Congenial Spine Deviation and Repetitive Injury

I recently visited my Neurologist who has been treating me for a painful condition over the past several years. A condition caused by congenital spine deviation and repetitive injury, (stenosis, reverse lordosis and bone spurs which have been pinching off the nerves of my right arm and hand). My chosen coarse of physiotherapy and rehabilitation relies on a Bikram Yoga practice, Alkalized, Ionized water, and a vegan diet.

According to my doctor the average coarse of action for this condition relies on analgesics and nerve blockers with severe side affects and usually only buys time before surgery. My particular situation does not allow for surgery without extreme risk created by the position of calcification and involvement of C4,5 and 6.

My point in sharing all of this is not to complain but to show how profound changes can be created though developing a dedicated Bikram yoga practice. Even for someone well over a half a century old.

My doctor is truly impressed by what my Bikram practice has accomplished in stabilizing what is considered a degenerative disk disease, to a manageable chronic condition. Also the structural, postural and muscular changes to my body. She was so impressed that she is has postponed recommending a surgical procedure, CT block, to supporting my chosen coarse of rehabilitation and therapy. Commenting that she would like it if I spoke to her other patients on the value of a holistic approach and personal responsibility, over the use of a pill or surgery for everything.

There are no short cuts, you have to do the work, hydrate your body with live water (ionized, alkalized, micro clustered water ), a non toxic diet, and get plenty restorative rest a total mind, body, spirit approach.

I offer my resounding gratitude to the amazing practice developed by Bikram Choudhary, the instructors for their dedication & professionalism, and the support and community of the Bikrams Studio on Commercial Drive. Thank you!

Namaste,

Ana Hill
